Community Pier
- Residents may fish, walk, sit and view the stars above and the marine life below.
- Work groups do repairs as needed and replenish the sand every year.
- Members, the community pier, and the Amoss Road Access property are all insured by the Erie Insurance Group.
Community Action Awareness
- Residents can voice their ideas and opinions at General Meetings, which are held every two months during the school year.
- Delegates regularly attend meetings of the Greater Severna Park Council and the Magothy River Association, keeping members informed about matters affecting our families, and environmental issues concerning our creek.
Information networks
- Web site includes our history, announcements, member application, an interactive survey, photos of social activities, and the ability to sign up for email alerts and send news items to the editor.
- E-mail alerts keep members informed instantly.
- Newsletters notify the membership about events, community news, and activities of the Board of Directors.
Preservation of our homes and environment
- The Bog Action Committee effectively fought development on Osche Road and is continuing to monitor this threat to our community’s environmentally sensitive area.
- The Safety Committee is working to solve the problem of speeding on Cypress Creek Road.
- The association coordinates Dumpsters provided by the county in the spring to keep our properties clean and Mosquito Spraying by the state Department of Agriculture in the summer, as needed, for heath and sanitation purposes.
- Community Yard Sale in June is advertised in the local media.
Social Activities
- Crab Feast in the fall is always fun and a great way to socialize with neighbors and is within walking distance!
- Halloween Party is as much fun for the kids as it is the coven of grown-ups involved in planning and executing this magic time.
- Festive Holiday Decorations that beautify our streets were sponsored by the association for the first time in December 2005.
